TRANSFER OF EXISTING PLANS

Since opening Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, families have been asking if an existing pre-need policy for their, or their loved ones, funeral that was written elsewhere can be transferred to Wright Funeral Home and Crematory. The answer to this question is YES, absolutely. Please read the following information and complete the short questionnaire at the bottom of this page. We will then contact you to follow up and to provide answers to any question that you may have.

Why families are doing it:

As Henry County and the Wiregrass area continues to grow, many of us are relocating our parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents here to be closer. Typically the generation before took care of making their final wishes formal when they were in their 50s, 60s and 70s, so they’d have their affairs in order for the future. Funeral insurance policies belong To the individual, NOT the funeral home that wrote the policy. You can assign it to any service provider you prefer.

Here Is how it works:

If a death has just occurred, contact us immediately, and we’ll accept the policy. That’s the peace of mind we offer you.  We encourage pre-planning questions and discussions, whether or not you’re ready to make final decisions. The more you know about your choices now brings you peace of mind And time to think about what you’d really like to have when your family and friends gather to remember you. Preplanning relieves your family of that burden and gives them more time and energy to focus on healing and remembrance.

For families choosing burial:

Existing policy holders will just need to change the assignee to Wright Funeral Home and Crematory. Our office can help you complete this change in minutes. Once this is accomplished, we fulfill everything that was stated in your policy. If a church funeral was requested, and the church was originally in a different hometown, we can help reach out to the church for their availability for the service at a day and time of your choosing. We also have caskets for your choosing that are just like the ones specified In your contract (color, decoration, etc.) or very similar to it. If military honors are requested, all we need is a copy of the DD-214 form and we will take care of the rest.

For families choosing cremation:

If cremation was your loved one’s choice, we have the only on site crematory in Henry County, so you're loved one never has to leave our care. We have a large selection of cremation urns for you to choose from that you’ll find will meet the one previously chosen by your loved one.
