VERONA A. TAYLOR

ABBEVILLE….Verona Allen Taylor known as “Jeanette” to those who knew and loved her best, passed away at the Henry County nursing home in Abbeville Alabama on March 21 at 11:52 PM

Jeanette was the cherished wife of Gentry Edgar Taylor for 74 years. She was the beloved Mother of Robert A Taylor (who preceded her in death) Daniel Foster Taylor and Lorraine Taylor Mouery. She was the beloved Grandmother of Angela and Eric McMillan, Aaron Taylor, Marcus Mouery, John Mouery and Christy Mouery Haynes.
She is survived by eight great grandchildren, two great grandchildren and her brother Charles Allen and sister Patricia black.

She also adored her “son in law” Dr. John Mouery, who was by her side from the time he was a teenager.
As for the rest of her in laws and grand in laws, she liked to say “I love you in and out of the law”
She had many nieces and nephews who also loved her.

Jeanette lived her life during a time when women did not often aspire to higher education and leadership roles. Even still, she was determined to become an educated woman who led the way for many, despite the challenges.
She was quoted as saying “the greatest and most important thing I ever did in life, was accepting Jesus Christ as my personal savior”
Jeanette was straightforward, absolute, and had a great sense of humor.
She loved her family and friends passionately and she was a loyal woman. Although tiny in stature, she was known to be a powerhouse.
When asked for advice, she would say cleanliness, polished shoes, ironed clothes, a nice belt, good manners, eye contact and a smile when you talk...will get you far in life. And she was always willing to help provide those things.
She also always encouraged education.
You knew where you stood with her and she always wanted the best for you. That was her way of showing her love.
She is gone from us now and she will be greatly missed. With that said, she will never be forgotten.
