SUSAN JAYNE WELLNER
SHORTERVILLE.… Susan Jayne Wellner, a resident of Shorterville, Alabama, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 23, 2020, at her home. She was 73.
The family will have an online memorial service via FaceBook available May 1, 2020 at www.facebook.com/susan.wellner.1 and will have a memorial video available by Reverend Jerry Worzella.

Mrs. Wellner was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Donald Bixler Wilbert and Alma Jayne Ulsh Wilbert. Also preceding her in death is a sister, Nancy Wilbert Williamson. Susan was an x-ray, ultrasound and nuclear medicine technician. She lived various places across the United States, while married for forty-three years to her late husband, (Reverend Robert Hyde Wellner) as he ministered different churches. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing the piano at Shorterville Baptist church and Friendship Baptist Church (MA), where Brother Bob pastored for more than twenty years. She was also a member of the Young At Heartgroup with Shorterville Baptist Church. She loved spending time with and teaching children about the Lord, making crafts, doing puzzles, and playing games. Susan had a heart of hospitality and her home was always open.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Debbie Phillips (Tim) of Shorterville, Donna Richards (Eddie) of Greensboro, NC; her step-children, Debra Lee Varley (Tim) of Ponte Vera, FL, Robert Hyde Wellner, Jr. of Highlands, NJ, David John Wellner (Pam) of Oceanport, NJ, and Mark Twain Wellner of Atlantic Highland, NJ; her foster daughter, Heidi Flagg (Allen) of Wales, MA; her grandchildren, Heather Roberts (Andrew) of Abbeville, AL,Megan Jackson (Shawn) of Shorterville, AL, Ashleigh Tate (Christopher) of Haleburg, Al, Jacklyn Wellner, Dylan Wellner, Hayley Wellner, Paige Wellner, Zach Wellner, Ben Wellner, Austin Flagg, Mattie Flagg; her great-grandchildren, Emma Roberts, Logan Jackson, Dillon Jackson, Anna Roberts, Harper Tate, Hayden Tate, and Lawson Roberts; her niece, Amy Franklin; and her great-niece, Riley Franklin.
