RUBY MCKNIGHT
HEADLAND, AL…Ruby McKnight, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 04, 2022, at a Dothan Hospital. She was 85.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday May 07, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Headland Worship Center with Dr. Cecil Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Brother Norman Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. prior to the service, at First Baptist Church of Headland Worship Center.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church - Headland Building Fund, 301 East Church Street, Headland, Alabama 36345.
Mrs. McKnight was born June 18, 1936, to the late Robert Foy Davis and Lettie Viola Killingsworth Davis. She has lived in Headland her entire life. She graduated from Headland High School. After school she became a dental hygienist. She worked with several dentists in the local area. She was a member at First Baptist Church – Headland where she was very active in the choir and the Marilyn E. McClendon Sunday School Class.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Bell and Voncille Davis Shelley; and her brothers, Cecil Davis and Robert M. Davis.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her husband James Howard McKnight, Jr; her daughters Beth Givens (Mark) and Diane Avery (Phillip); her step-daughter, Candace McKnight; her step-son, Timothy McKnight (Lena); her grandchildren, Abby McKay, Grant Givens (Lindsey), Laurabeth Thomas, Tye Avery, Alec Avery (Morgan); her great-grandchildren, Lilly Grant McKay, Piper Givens, and Ella Thomas; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Mark Givens, Phillip Avery, Scott Davis, Tye Avery, Alec Avery, and Grant Givens.
