REVEREND STEVE NOLIN

ABBEVILLE, AL... Reverend Steve Nolin, a resident of Abbeville, passed away Tuesday March 25, 2025, at his residence. He was 69.

A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday April 07, 2025, at Liberty Methodist Church with Pastor Aaron Ankeny officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Nolin was born in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Ira Paul Nolin and Mary Jacqueline Calhoun Nolin. After completing high school, he began his career as a firefighter, a profession he devoted many years to before retiring. Following his retirement, Mr. Nolin pursued higher education at Emory University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in theology. Throughout his life, he has been an active member of several organizations, including The Lion’s Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Award, and The Rotary Club. Additionally, Mr. Nolin served as the minister for Liberty Methodist Church, where he made significant contributions to the community.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Lori Marks Nolin; his daughter, Ashlee Elizabeth Nolin Whitewood (Mick); his son, Christopher Steven Nolin; his sister, Amy Carol Nolin Bland; his brother, John Christopher Nolin (Laura); his grandchildren, Michael Whitewood, Skylar Nolin, Ashlynn Nolin, Raelynn Nolin, and Maggie Whitewood; numerous other loving family members and friends.
