MAXWELL “CLAY” JOHNS
HEADLAND, AL… Maxwell “Clay” Johns, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday morning, March 15, 2022, at Henry County Health & Rehab. He was 63.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Sam White officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Johns was born in Ozark, Alabama to Cecil Luverne Carroll Clayton and the late Max Johns. He worked as meat processor for many years at, Swift Independents, in Dothan, Alabama. He also worked at West Point Stevens before becoming disabled. He was an avid deer hunter and coon hunter. He loved his game roosters. He was a big Alabama Football fan. He loved his wife immensely, along with his daughters, but his true love was his grandchildren.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Gayle Johns; his daughters, Nicole Feggins (Charles) and Jessica Johns (Reginald Melton); his mother, Cecil Carroll Clayton (Niel); his sister, Delana Guthrie; and his grandchildren, Tanner McClenny, Taylor Feggins, Kinslee Melton and Blake Feggins; his many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to send their appreciation and gratitude to the nurses and CNA’s of the 200 Wing at the Henry County Health & Rehab, for the love and care shown to Mr. Johns, while he was there.
