LORI A. BASS
HEADLAND, AL… Lori A. Bass, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Tuesday morning, July 11, 2023, at her home. She was 52.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at First Baptist Church Headland with Dr. Cecil Sanders, Pastor Roger Campbell and Pastor Edward Douglas officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 14, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel.
Mrs. Bass was born in Ozark, Alabama to Betty Martin Lane and the late William Paul Vinson. She graduated from Daleville High School in 1989 and then received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Troy University. She was employed as a social worker with the state of Alabama for over 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Headland. Lori enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and friends. Her favorite place to go was Auburn to visit Courtney & Brannon and cheer on her Auburn Tigers. Lori never met a stranger and loved helping out anyone in need. She truly had a servant’s heart, which is why her children always called her the “super social worker”. Lori was steadfast both in her faith in the Lord and her love for her family.
Along with her father she was also preceded in death by her step-father, Tommy Hiram Lane.
Surviving relatives include her husband Joel Bass; her daughter, Courtney Bass Gilmer (Sam); her son, Brannon Bass; her mother, Betty Lane; her brother, Mike Vinson (Pam); her nieces, Holly Graham (Cole) and Hannah McWhite (Kyle); her great-nieces, Katelyn Graham and Carter Graham; her great-nephews, Jonathan McCoy, Neil Graham, Ben Graham, and Mason McWhite.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Sam Gilmer, Joe Falkner, Ryan Campbell, Tim Hammond, Kenneth Hammond, Johnathan McCoy, and Michael Bass.
