LARRY DANIEL “COWBOY” GIVENS

PANSEY, AL… Larry Daniel “Cowboy” Givens, a resident of Pansey, Alabama, passed away early Friday morning, December 29, 2023, at his home. He was 74.

          There are no services planned at this time.

          During this time the family will be at the home of his son, Brandon, 4880 East Cook Road, Columbia, Alabama 36319.

          In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in Mr. Givens honor to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, www.donate.cancer.org, or to the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org.

          Mr. Givens was born in Dothan, Alabama to the late Daniel Preston Givens and Alice Merle Sizemore Givens. He was a graduate of Cottonwood High School. After high school he joined the US Marine Corps where he served his country fighting in the Vietnam War. He retired from driving long haul trucking. He was a long-standing member of the Pansey Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to hunt, fish, ride his Harley and side by side. He was also an avid gardener. He was passionate about serving his neighbors and community.

          Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Carol Marie Givens and his brother, Danny Gene Givens.

          Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Rosemary Ingram Givens; his son, Larry Brandon Givens (Michelle); and his grandson, Kade Clements.

          The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the DaySprings Hospice Staff and especially Olivia Starling and Stephanie Thomas.
