DOTHAN… Kyler Jay Smith, a resident of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at a Dothan hospital. He was 7.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 22, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Jerome Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening, June 21, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Kyler was born December 23, 2016, in Fort Benning, Georgia to Jade and Briani Smith. Kyler has one sister Khloe Smith. He cherished every moment in life. He brought immense joy to all who knew him, with his love for playing video games, basketball as well as other sports, and the thrill of riding his motorcycle. He would play as long and as hard as he could.
His eyes lit up at the sight of strawberry ice cream and strawberry iced doughnuts, as well as crumbled cookies, which always brought a smile to his face.
Kyler adored his cousins, Landon Farrier, and Jadavian Farrier dearly and spent countless times playing video games daily with them as well as many summers. His favorite game was Fortnite. Kyler loved his best buddy, Kingston. Whether they were playing together or simply enjoying each other's company, Kyler and Kingston shared a bond that brought immense happiness to Kyler's life. Above all, Kyler held a special place in his heart for his Pawpaw and spent as much time with him as possible until he passed away in 2021.
When Kyler grew up, he dreamed of becoming a soldier like his daddy, reflecting admiration for his father's bravery and profession. Kyler had an immense love for all his family and friends.
His laughter and playful spirit will be deeply missed by all.
Kyler was preceded in death by his grandfathers; Bobby Smith “PawPaw” and Calvin Bolden; his grandmother; Bobbie Jean Brown; his aunt. Sigrid Gaines and Dieash Little; his uncle, Nicholas Farrier.
Surviving relatives include his parents, Jade and Briani Smith; his sister, Khloe Smith; his grandparents, Ingrid Smith (Herlindo, San Juan), Tameka Bolden, Anthony Brown, Vivian Smith; his great-grandparents, Ted and Jane Besecker; his great-great-grandmothers, Starla Bolden, Cassandra Mello, Anthony and Rochelle Brown; his aunts, Kiani Johnson, Jada Mincey, Sade Farrier (David Rhem),Raven Brown Elisha Marshall (DJ); his uncles, Calvin Bolden, Keleen Farrier (Varquita), Kendrick Williams, Freddrick Jackson (Evette), Shane Smith; host of cousins, and other loving family members and friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Calvin Bolden, David Rhem, Bob Figero, and Juan Martinez.
