Kaye McCord Smith

HEADLAND…. Kaye McCord Smith, a resident of Headland, passed away Tuesday night, March 18, 2025. She was 80.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, March 21, 2025, at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Jerry Grandstaff and Dr. Cecil Sanders, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M prior to the service at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Dothan City Cemetery.

Ms. Smith was born in Houston County to the late Robert Ray McCord and Myrtice Rebecca Williamson McCord. She was a graduate of Dothan High School, Class of 1963. She then attended Southern Union College where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business. She worked along with her husband, Dr. Ronald Smith in his practice as a chiropractic assistant for many years. Ms. Smith has been attending First Baptist Church of Headland. She and her husband lived in Valley Alabama for thirty six years before returning to the area in 2018. Ms. Kaye loved traveling, especially taking bus tours around the United States.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Ronald Smith and a twin sister, Faye McCord.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Rhonda Smith Patten (John) of Sylacauga, AL; son, Mark Smith (Angie) of Columbia; sister, Patsy Clark of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren, Chelsey Smith Manring (Dilan), Bailee Smith Harrison (Whit), Anna Claire Patten, Abigail Patten; great grandchildren, Anslee Katherine Manring and Saylor James Harrison; several other cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
