JULIUS RALPH GIVENS, JR.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA… Julius Ralph Givens, Jr., a resident of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his devoted wife and loving family. He was 71.

          A private service will be held for family and friends at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 1, 2023, at McKendree United Methodist Church, 1570 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.

          In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church, www.mckendreeumc.org .

          Julius is remembered as a man of God who cherished his family. In his happiest moments you could find him playing the role of sous chef to Noreen in their kitchen, hitting golf balls with Andy, fishing from his bass boat- his preferred retirement vehicle, or planning the next camping trip for him and his granddaughters. You couldn’t complete an adventure with Julius without him planting seeds for the next one. Despite his extended family’s allegiance to Auburn, he was also a fervent follower of University of Alabama sports as well as Georgia Tech- his sons alma mater. Roll Tide! A student at heart, Julius was always eager to learn. After graduating from Headland High School, he went on to receive a BS in Accounting from Troy State University, an MBA from the University of North Florida, and a BSN from Florida Atlantic University. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

          Preceding him in death are his parents, Julius Ralph Givens, Sr. and Ella Verna Rister Givens  

                    Leaving to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 44 years, Noreen Givens; his son, Andy Scott Givens (Ashley Elizabeth Givens);  his three granddaughters Olivia Mae Givens, Adalynn Mercer Givens, and Emerson Scott Givens; his sister, Charlotte Nichols (Ron) of Huntsville, AL; his brother, Mark Givens (Beth) of Headland, AL; his nieces, Cathy Carroll, Marisa Akin, Abby Givens McKay, and Laurabeth Givens Thomas; his nephew, Grant Givens; and his great-nieces, Lilly Grant McKay, Piper James Givens and Ella Sterling Thomas.
