JOHNNIE ELLEN EDMONDSON
HEADLAND . Johnnie Ellen Edmondson, a resident of Headland, passed away Thursday evening, January 23rd, 2020 at her home after an extended illness. She was 83.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 27, 2020 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Reverend Norman C. Simmons and Reverend Keith Wrenn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in Ms. Johnnies honor to the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2506 AL-134 Headland, Alabama 36345.
Mrs. Edmondson was born in Henry County to the late John Thomas Gilder and Ellen Inez Parrish Gilder, and lived her entire life in the Henry County / Headland area. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mrs. Edmondson retired from Headland Head Start as a Teachers Aid. After retiring she worked at the Porch House Restaurant, and the Headland First Baptist Church Child Daycare Center. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Monroe Edmondson; her son, Michael Edmondson; and her brother, James Gilder.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughter, Barbara Edmondson Anderson (John) of Dothan; her sons, John Edmondson (Roberta) of Headland, Donald Edmondson (Jean) of Huntsville, AL, Wayne Edmondson, and Greg Edmondson both of Headland; her sister, Patsy Blevins of Reynoldsburg, OH; her brother, Shelby Gilder of Taylor, AL; her sisters-in-law, Dean Sheffield of McDonough, GA, Fay Kirkland (Royce) of Northport, AL, Glenda Deese (George) of Panama City Beach, FL; her brother-in-law, CB Edmonson (Myra) of Dothan, her grandchildren, Ashley Edmondson, William Edmondson, Brianna Edmondson, Allen Michael Edmondson, Haley Edmondson, Erica Edmondson, and Johnathan Brannon; her great-grandchildren; Madisyn Edmondson, David Henderson, Aubrianna Edmondson, Amyah Edmondson, Brian Roush, Skylar Edmondson, Chloe Edmondson, Aleigha Brannon, Kaiden Brannon, and Isabella Brannon.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Edmondson, Allen Michael Edmondson, Paul Peterson, Wendell Edmonson, Matthew McCraney, and Mark Edmonson.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Kindred Hospice for the love and care they showed Mrs. Johnnie during her illness.
