SHORTERVILLE, AL… Jewel Taylor Fleming, a resident of Shorterville, Alabama, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at her daughter’s home. She was 90.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Old Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Winford Gulledge officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. in the church sanctuary, prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Zion Baptist Church c/o John R. Starling, 480 County Road 36, Shorterville, AL 36373.
Mrs. Fleming was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late Belton Taylor and Ressie Bradley Taylor. She lived her childhood in Headland, Alabama where she graduated from Headland High School. All of her adult life she lived in Sandy Bottom Community, near Shorterville, Alabama. Mrs. Fleming was formerly employed by Henry County Hospital as a receptionist. She was a member of the Old Zion Baptist Church.
Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey S. Fleming; a son-in-law, Jeff Ethridge; and a great-grandson, Colby Allums.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Patty Fleming Rollins (George) of San Antonio, TX, Faye Fleming Condon (Lou) of Headland, AL, and Cherie Fleming Ethridge of Newville, AL; her sister-in-law, Genera Hartley Fleming of Shorterville, AL; her grandchildren, Chad Allums (Beth), Keisha Roberts, Amanda Rollins, Micah Holley (Brook), April Elwood and Ashley Price (Brock); her nine great-grandchildren; her niece, Dell Marie McPherson (Joel), her nephews, Toby Fleming (Linda) and Curt Fleming (Kendra); her great-niece and three great-nephews.
