JAMES LEE “BILL” LAWRENCE

HEADLAND, AL… James Lee “Bill” Lawrence, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Friday morning, September 1, 2023, at his home. He was 82.

          Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Center Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Harris Hollis, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Lawrence’s family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

          Mr. Lawrence was born in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Roosevelt Lawrence and Adell Manley Lawrence. He has lived in Headland, Alabama for the last 29 years. He is retired as a truck driver. He was a member of Center Missionary Baptist Church.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife Rosie Marie Lawrence; his daughters, Bonnie Wilson and Tatsia Lawrence; his sons, Ronnie Grace (Sonia) and James Lee Lawrence, Jr. (Jennifer); his step-children, Derrick Davis and Devonna Carter; his sisters, Reece Cochran, Martha Hamerter, Edna Lynn, Cora McKinnon Turner, Annette Davis, and Bertha Hawkins; his brothers, Rosevelt Lawrence, Johnny Lawrence, Willie Lawrence, and Jerry Lawrence; his sixteen grandchildren; his nineteen great-grandchildren; his nine step-grandchildren; his one step-grand-grandchild; several other loving family members and friends.
