DINAH WHITE MADDOX
HEADLAND…Dinah White Maddox (lovingly known as D), a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Saturday night, August 21, 2021, at a Dothan hospital. She was 75.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Sam White and Reverend Brad Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. before the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsey Baptist Church Friendship Class, 6745 Walden Drive Kinsey, Alabama 36303.
Mrs. Maddox was born at Frasier-Ellis Hospital in Dothan, Alabama to the late Frank Edward White and Julia Graddy White. She was a 1964 Graduate of Headland High School. Dinah retired from Farms Service Agency (formerly ASCS). She was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church. She had a passion for reading and loved to write, (she would write a thank you note, for a thank you note, that she had received). She was just a genuine, kind, and caring person who left everyone with an infectious smile.
Along with her father, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Morris Maddox.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her sons; Adam Smith (Jennifer Brannon Holder) of Headland, AL, Andy Smith (Becky Stewart) of Montgomery, AL; her mother, Julia Graddy White; her step-daughters Stacey Maddox and Jennifer Maddox Dorris (Rick) and their families; her sister, Juliana White Pittman of Enterprise, AL; her brother, Sam White (Sherrie) of Kinsey, AL; her grandchildren, Savannah Stevenson (Brice) of Troy, AL, Emily Smith (Connor German) of Headland, AL, Ian Smith of Auburn, AL, and Riley Smith of Dothan, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ian Smith, Cody White, Caleb White, Billy Faulk, Brice Stevenson, and Connor German. Serving as honorary pallbearers are her beloved farmers she served at FSA.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at Flowers Hospital for the loving care they showed Mrs. Maddox and the family during her hospitalization.
