DOTHAN, AL… Carla Gayle Shelley, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at a Dothan hospital. She was 48.

          Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Reverend Joey Pettis officiating. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

          In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that contributions be made to the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o David Teat, 10033 CR-47, Shorterville, Alabama, 36373.

          Ms. Shelley was born in Dothan, Alabama to Gayle Watson Shelley and the late Roy Keith Shelley. She lived in Headland, Alabama most of her lifetime. She was a 1994 graduate of Headland High School. She obtained her accounting degree from Troy University in 2001.

          Along with her father, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Altalene C. Watson, James Hubert Watson, Jack Shelley, Ellie M. Shelley; her aunt, Emily Collins; and her uncle, Doug Collins.

          Leaving to cherish her memories is her mother, Gayle Watson Shelley; her fiance’, Jeremy Pearson; her uncles, Dave Watson (Nancy) and John W. Shelley, Jr.; her special cousins, Shea C. Peters (Jason), Zachary Watson (Britney), and Jadah Cobb (Lee); and her several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
